Where To Start With Professional Korean Skincare

Where To Start With Professional Korean Skincare

Posted by Sarah Kinsler-Holloway on

If you’re new to professional Korean skincare or just looking to refine your facial treatments, you’ve come to the right place. Understanding how to customize facials based on your client’s unique skin needs is paramount in building a successful business.  Here’s a straightforward guide to help you get started, while understanding the importance of working intuitively.

Understand the Basics of Skin Analysis + Why It Matters

Each client’s skin is different, and a one-size-fits-all approach doesn’t work in skincare which is often counterintuitive to what we were taught in school. To make things even more confusing, our clients skin's needs can change daily based on hormones, weather, stress, diet and more.  This is why it's hard to answer a common question we receive, "what products are good for a basic facial?" Remember, skin is an organ!

There are however some products which are pretty universal and if you're feeling really unsure we suggest sticking with Corthe's line of masks and KrX's Glow Line

Building a Backbar + How to Choose Products

We always recommend to ask yourself these questions, first:

1. What do I specialize in? What type of clients do I most often see?

2. If you're new or your books aren't quite filled ask yourself this: what type of clients do I want to see?  What do I want to be known for?

Catering to these answers will help you narrow down where to start.

It's important to remember that we are first business owners, and second estheticians (if you're solo).  That means we want to keep as much of our money as possible and we shouldn't spend frivolously (although that can be fun).

Start by heading to our website and under shop you'll be able to sort products and treatments by skin concern.  From there we recommend just picking a couple of treatments (Inflacure for acne/rosacea/impaired barrier, VTox for anti-aging/glycation, Carboxy for dehyrated skin and as a great facial add-on).

Once you find a product you're interested in, head to our catalog to read more about it, and to view corresponding protocols.  All products within that protocol are linked for easy shopping.

Once you purchase products for a few different protocols, you'll quickly find with experience that you can combine a lot of treatments together as long as you're being mindful of contraindications.

If you're still feeling unsure, make sure you book a 30 minute Discovery Call with one of our educators. You'll also want to make sure to join our private Facebook Group!

Lastly, did you know you can sign up for texting and we will have a direct line of communication!?
