A Minimalist Reset for Estheticians: January Micro-Challenges

Posted by Sarah Kinsler-Holloway on

Are you like me, and easily gets overwhelmed by all the things that need to get done?  I created this 31 day mini to-do to break things down to make it less overwhelming and more digestible.

No pressure to overhaul your business, and no dramatic resolutions. Just one simple action each day that nudges you (and me) toward a year that feels more organized.

Here’s our 31-day guide.

Day 1 — Clean treatment room drawers

Throw out expired product. Buy organizer trays if needed.

Day 2 — Delete all unneeded emails in inbox

A micro-declutter for the brain.

Day 3 — Review insurance policy to ensure fully covered.

It's all fun and games until you need it.

Day 4 — Refine policies

And update them!

Day 5 — Get rid of old stained linens + order new ones

Clients do see these (some times).

Day 6 — Send a thank you card to a client/customer

Small reminders of why you do this work.

Day 7 — Update your website

One tiny adjustment if needed.

Day 8 — Create a “January shelf edit” with your top 3 winter products.

Post it on social media, and/or include in an email.

Day 9 — Reach out to a friend you haven't seen in awhile

We all need some feel good downtime.

Day 10 — Unfollow five accounts that drain you

Curate your inputs.

Day 11 — Add one line of automation to your workflow

A template, a reminder, a system.

Day 12 — Learn one ingredient deeply

Not a list — a true understanding.

Day 13 — Take 10 minutes to reset your treatment room

Even if it's just dusting or doing one thing.

Day 14 — Pack a healthy lunch

Just a little reminder that health is wealth.

Day 15 — Write down one goal you want to accomplish this year

Something that's attainable and hold yourself accountable.

Day 16 — Schedule a photoshoot to refresh the brand

We all need a refresh.

Day 17 — Choose one client question to turn into content

Start where people already need support.

Day 18 — Delete one app notification that interrupts your flow

Get rid of distractions and make room for presence.

Day 19 — Identify one service you no longer love

You don’t have to act yet — just name it.

Day 20 — Rest on purpose

Ten minutes. No phone, and no guilt. I've been loving the Brick to help disconnect.

Day 21 — Clean out your car

Or just get the trash out (in my case).

Day 22 — Create a new facial protocol that excites you

A great way to get inspired.

Day 23 — Choose one product you want to hero this season

Anchor your education around it.

Day 24 — Do an inventory and order supplies

Even better, set up a subscription for delivery.

Day 25 — Set your intentions for February

What do you want to accomplish, focus on, and let go?

Day 26 — Recommit to one wellness habit that supports your work

Water, stretching, breaks — something small.

Day 27 — Revisit your retail shelves - organize and dust

Clients notice chaos and dust.

Day 28 — Block off one date for education in the next 90 days

A future anchor for growth.

Day 29 — Learn one new word

And then use it.

Day 30 — Send one gratitude message to a mentor, client, or colleague

Community is a strategy.

Day 31 — Figure out one thing you've been putting off and put a plan of action together to get it done

You got this
