The Derma W Skin Spatula with Smart Skin Analyzer + Why You Need It!

Posted by Sarah Kinsler-Holloway on

The most underrated tool for the treatment room, in my opinion, is an Ultrasonic Skin Spatula.  I love how versatile they are, and they are appropriate for every kind and type of skin!

Three years ago I started using the Derma W Skin Spatula, which of course is Korean.  It is the first device of it's kind to also offer a smart skin analyzer which reads hydration levels in real time by measuring the electrical resistance in the skin.

It even comes with a free app, so that you can show your clients, if you so choose.

This particular spatula is more powerful than most oscillating at 30,000 - 37,000 hZ.  It helps to dislodge debris from the pores, while removing dead skin cells.  I love removing enzyme masks with it for that reason.

It also has two infusion modes; nutrition and firming.

Nutrition enables water-soluble ingredients like vitamin c to penetrate deeper into the skin. I recommend using it over the Whitening Shield mask by Corthe.

The firming mode is best for fat-soluble ingredients, like retinol, to help increase absorption.  Try it with the KrX Youthplex Face Lift Cream

Some other highlights about this fabulous device:

  • Comes with a year warranty
  • Stays charged for a very long time
  • Ergonomically designed
  • Gold plated spatula is strong, and withstands lots of Cavicide wiping

HOW TO USE + TIPS

Cleansing Mode

Use the spatula to remove cleansers, like the Cica Recovery Cleanser shown in the photo, or to remove enzyme masks.
We recommend using a damp fan brush to keep the skin moist (see below).  Using a skin spatula on dry skin is not a pleasant feeling so this is a little trick that will help easily remove masks and cleansers.

To use either of the infusion modes, simply turn the spatula over so the flat side is touching the skin. It's also important to note that on the back of the skin spatula is a gold circle. Make sure to touch this terminal when using either of the infusion modes.
